Accessing The Athletic
To access the Athletic via Brock University Library, you must first activate access on your individual account. After this initial setup, you may connect directly to theathletic.com using the account.
Follow these steps to activate your own account for The Athletic:
- Click on this registration link. NOTE: You must log out of any existing The Athletic account before clicking on the registration link.
- You will be taken to a new page where you can redeem access to a 1-year gift subscription. You may be required to authenticate your access with your Brock credentials first.
- After clicking Redeem Gift, you will then be provided with two options to create your account:
- Select Continue with Google, Apple, or Facebook.
- For email, use your Brock email address. You will then be prompted to enter your name and create a password.
- After you create your account, you will be redirected to the Welcome to The Athletic screen.
- Follow the prompts from Let's Get Started to customize your feeds. Note: you must select at least one team and one league.
- Once signed in, a dropdown link called ‘YOU’ will appear in the upper right corner-use this link to update your account settings at any time.
To access The Athletic once you've created your account:
Once your account is created, access theathletic.com from any web browser, signing in with username and password if requested.
To use with a tablet or mobile device:
Download the app for Apple or Android.
