NUSC 2P30 Research Guide

Guide to Nursing information resources for students in NUSC 2P30 Winter 2015.

Critically evaluating sources

Not all information is good information. Remember to critically evaluate what you find:

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined in Brock University's Academic Misconduct Regulations as "…presenting work done (in whole or in part) by someone else as if it were one's own."

Avoid it by citing sources for all ideas and words that are not your own. This includes:

  • information from websites and other electronic sources
  • print information
  •  videos, images, charts and tables
  • direct quotes
  • paraphrase (information from someone else that you've rewritten in your own words)
