Peer reviewed articles, also known as scholarly or refereed articles, have been evaluated by several researchers or subject specialists in the academic community prior to being accepted for publication.

How can I tell if a journal is peer reviewed?

  • If you're searching for articles, sometimes you can limit your search to peer reviewed sources simply by selecting a tab or checking a box or filter on the search screen while searching a library database or Omni.

 

Peer review is certainly not a perfect system, but it is the current model for ensuring high quality research in most scholarly journal articles. Read more about Peer Review.
