About EEBO and EEBO-TCP

Early English Books Online (EEBO) is a collection of digitized historical materials covering the years 1473-1700. EEBO includes historical documents, literature and language, science, medicine and more. The EEBO-TCP project contains transcriptions of many of the EEBO documents, allowing for full-text searching and textual analysis.

Early English Books Online Text Creation Partnership This link opens in a new window
- A partnership between Proquest and more than 150 libraries to generate highly accurate, fully-searchable SGML/XML-encoded texts from EEBO collection 1473-1700.
- Phase I (2000-2009) converted 25,000 texts; Phase II (ongoing) seeks to convert each unique first editions (an additional 45,000 books).
