Academic Integrity & Plagiarism

Brock University's Academic Integrity Policy provides clear expectations for the ethical use of sources and examples of inappropriate academic behaviour related to essays, assignments, and major research papers include: "Using direct quotations or large sections of paraphrased material without acknowledgment" (See Appendix Two of the policy for a complete list).

The following resources provide assistance in citing sources according to the American Accounting Association's style guide, which is based on The Chicago Manual of Style.

It may be helpful to scan recent issues of journals published by the AAA such as: The Accounting Review or Accounting Horizons to see examples of different types of citations.
