Streaming Media & Films

Through the library here at Brock you have access to many different films both online through streaming platforms as well as hard copies like DVD's in the library. You are able to find films in the Brock Library or OMNI by using the advanced search option in Omni or limiting by Resource Type to Video/Film.

Kanopy
- Stream critically acclaimed movies, documentaries, independent and foreign films, and educational "how to" videos.
- Videos enabled with closed captions and transcripts.
- Kanopy access is mediated: the Brock Library leases Kanopy films by request for instruction and focused research. See more information.

- Permitted Uses
National Film Board of Canada
- Find documentaries and films of the lives of Canadians, the environment, human rights, international conflict and more
- Register for an NFB Education account to bookmark your favourite films. Note that as of September 2024, NFB Campus is NFB Education, and a separate account is not required to access NFB Education content. More info about these changes.
- Permitted Uses
Described video and closed captioning capabilities available.

Criterion-on-Demand
- Stream feature films.
- Videos cannot be viewed using screensharing apps such as Zoom, Teams, etc., or on mobile devices.
- Permitted Uses
- Find classic films, documentaries, international film, North American feature films, cult classics, new releases, foreign films, literary adaptations, documentaries, animated titles, and independent features
Audio Cine Films
- Stream movies from some of Hollywood’s most well-known studios, including Walt Disney, Universal, DreamWorks, Sony, Marvel, Pixar, MGM, and many others.
- Chrome browser recommended. For using other browsers, see technical requirements.
- Permitted Uses

- Streaming access to the best in educational video and audio from CBC and Radio-Canada.
- Note: Brocks subscription does not include National Geographic or News in Review content.
- Register for an individual Curio account, which allows you to create custom playlists and bookmarks.

Film scripts and sourtracks

American Film Scripts Online
- Contains over 1,100 scripts by over 1,000 writers together with detailed information on scenes, characters and people related to the scripts.
- Most of the scripts have never been published before, and nowhere else are they available online.
