  • Eviews software is available to GSB students remotely. Please contact GSB IT services, or ask your professor for more information.
  • EViews software is not currently available via the Brock Virtual Lab. Faculty or Instructors (not affiliated with the GSB) who wish to request new software for the virtual environment must contact Brock's ITS Help Desk

Online Tutorials for SPSS

A number of free tutorials are available to help you teach yourself how to use SPSS. Before consulting a tutorial, you should determine which version of SPSS you are using.

Support for learning to use SAS is available from a number of sources including the software vendor (sas.com). Before consulting a tutorial, you should determine which version of SAS you are using.

Online tutorials for STATA

Support for learning to use Stata is available from a number of sources, including the software vendor (StataCorp) who offer free video tutorials, as well as the occasional webinar, on their website (https://www.stata.com). Before consulting a tutorial, you should determine which version of Stata you are using.

Eventus

What is Eventus?

Eventus (R) is a software package used for conducting event studies using stock return data from CRSP, the TSX-CFMRC, Datastream, Compustat, or other data sources. Brock University has access to Eventus software via our subscription to the Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS). Additionally, Goodman School of Business faculty and graduate students may be able to access Eventus for Windows by contacting the GSB Technology (GSBTech) office.

  • Tutorials are available within WRDS to learn how to use Eventus. Click on the E-Learning tab within WRDS to access them.
  • User guides from Eventus are also available.
