Resources & Databases

Finding the "Right" Database

Figuring out which database to use can be a bit daunting at first, but don't worry the library is here to help. Especially with the variety of topics for this project it can be unclear where the best resources may live. Asking yourself a few questions could help narrow down where to begin searching.

1. Do my keywords fit into a certain subject or subject area?

Example: "celebrity endorsements" OR advertisements AND content creation

With these keywords it maybe a good idea to try out some of the Business databases as well as the Communications databases

Thinking outside of your course could be essential in finding relevant material

2. What question am I trying to answer with my research?

Example: Do celebrity endorsements effect a certain gender more than another?

From this perspective it might be a good idea to check out some of the Women and Gender Studies databases.

Don't Limit yourself Communications, Film or Business databases! You can check out more Databases here and narrow your choices down by subject or keyword.
