There is no uniform way to cite Canadian Government document determined by the global academic community, however, some resources have been created to ensure that the most important information needed to locate these documents.
Keep in mind what kind of document you are citing:
- Publications of departments, agencies, etc.
- Parliamentary publications
- Statutes, bills, regulations, and treaties
- Periodicals, conference proceedings, Statistics Canada publications
The kind of document you are citing will change the required information you will need to include in your citations.
